Professional Background & Expertise – Robert J. Hannemann
Sicherheit durch fundierte Praxis
After completing my degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, I began my professional career in 2013 as a Test Engineer for high-pressure hydrogen storage systems and fuel cells. During this time, I solidified my technical foundation in PLC programming, control cabinet construction, and measurement technology through daily practical application.
In early 2017, I transitioned to a role as a Certification Engineer for complex surface coating systems. There, I prepared products for type examinations and gained my first hands-on experience in standardization and committee work.
In the summer of 2019, my path led me to the Swiss Safety Center, where I headed the Conformity Services business unit for seven years. This role allowed me to build profound expertise in conformity management and product certification, and to represent the SSC in numerous standardization committees and industry associations.
A major milestone in my career during this time was the approval of assemblies according to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) for the international fusion reactor project ITER.
My many years across various roles in conformity assessment have equipped me to guide and evaluate complex industrial plants—from the initial design phase through to operation and beyond—combining a pragmatic approach with deep regulatory knowledge.
